Multichannel Eye Movement Integration (MEMI) is a breakthrough therapy designed to help you move forward after distressing or traumatic experiences. Safely and effectively, MEMI helps process what’s holding you back, without the need to relive or retell painful memories.
MEMI uses structured, multilateral eye movements and strategic voice prompts to help your brain safely reprocess distressing memories and unhelpful emotional responses, easing their hold on your daily life. This process allows your limbic system to reevaluate and reorganise how past experiences are stored, and reduce the reactivity and emotional charge associated with those memories.

Let go of unhelpful coping strategies
It is not uncommon, when living with unresolved trauma or prolonged distress, to adopt coping strategies to get through each day, such as drinking, drug use, overeating, or withdrawing socially and emotionally. Eventually, these behaviours can become the very things that keep us stuck. Often starting as a survival mechanism, they can quickly become all consuming.
Even though MEMI can gently reprocess the difficult memories at the root of your pain, reducing the need to self-soothe or self-medicate, there may be instances when these “coping strategies” persist, even after the event has been desensitised and no longer requires suppression.
This is where Strategic Hypnotherapy comes in, as it targets the deeper patterns behind your behaviours, in your unconscious brain. This is why I sometimes recommend a combination of MEMI and Strategy Hypnotherapy.
