Healing from Trauma
When something traumatic happens, whether it’s a violent event, a car accident, a natural disaster, or something that happened to you as a child, it can shake the foundation of who you are.
And even if it happened years ago, you might still feel the impact every day. You may have tried therapy before. You might have told your story more times than you can count. But somehow, the feelings haven’t shifted. You’re still overwhelmed, still anxious, and still using coping strategies that feel like they’re helping in the moment, but only just.
That’s the thing about trauma: it doesn’t fade just because time passes.
When traumatic experiences aren’t fully processed, they stay lodged in the body and mind, showing up in ways that feel exhausting and confusing.
You might be avoiding people or places. You might feel stuck, numb, reactive, or like you’re carrying a weight that others can’t see. You may have a constant sense of being on edge, unable to relax, trust yourself, or feel safe in your own body.
At Process Therapy, I offer an approach to trauma healing that’s different.
My approach is grounded in neuroscience, evidence-based, and designed to reduce the emotional intensity of past experiences, without retraumatising you.
Using modalities like Multichannel Eye Movement Integration (MEMI), Strategic Psychotherapy, Clinical Hypnotherapy, and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) I help you reprocess memories safely and gently, so they no longer hold the same charge. You will still remember what happened, but it won’t rule your life anymore.
You might find yourself thinking, “I just can’t do this anymore,” or wondering, “Why can’t I move past this?” You’re exhausted and wanting relief, but more than that, you want to feel whole again. To feel lighter, calmer, in control of your emotions, and to feel free from what happened, whether that was 30 years ago or just last year. Maybe you’ve already spent years in talk therapy without much change, and now you’re ready for something different. Something that actually creates change.
The process we use together isn’t about endlessly revisiting pain. It’s about shifting how trauma lives in your nervous system, so you can respond to life with more control and confidence. Healing doesn’t mean forgetting. It means reprocessing what happened so it no longer defines your present or your future. And often, it means finally being able to let go of the constant vigilance, the intrusive thoughts, and the emotional shutdown.
It’s possible to feel safe again. It’s possible to live fully and not just get through each day. It’s absolutely possible to heal, to change your present, and move forward towards a life that you choose.
